Observation

A written food plan is not in place for a child who follows a Halal diet. The provider did not do this because she herself follows a Halal diet. A child with a milk sensitivity is provided with almond milk as a substitute. The child's written food plan states that enriched soy milk will be served in subsitution. Almond milk does not meet USDA CACFP requirements. 2% milk is served to all other children, no matter their age. Whole milk is required by USDA for children younger than two. Non-fat milk is required for children two and older.
